Hiking in Vail

Currently, the chairlifts are not open for summer 2020, but hiking is accessible from the Village. Be prepared! The weather can be unpredictable in Colorado, make sure you have these items with you before heading out on your hike.

Hiking Preparedness Checklist:

  • Backpack

  • Hiking boots or shoes

  • Packable Snacks

  • Plenty of water

  • Navigation tools such as a map and compass (cell service may not be reliable)

  • First-aid kit

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (think moisture-wicking and layers)
